Great School Fundraising Ideas
![]() |
If you're planning a fundraiser for your educational facility, you may be in need of some great school fundraising ideas. Here are some ideas to get you started:
Hold a Car Wash
Everyone's car gets dirty, right? A car wash can be a fun and effective way to raise funds for your school. To make your car wash a success, you need to do a little planning and gather the right supplies. First, you'll need a high visibility location that motorists will notice. Many businesspeople have extra space in their parking lots that they will often let schools and churches use as temporary car wash locations. Then, you'll need advertising! Try large posterboards in vibrant colors and bold lettering. All that's left to do is get your car washing supplies ready and you're in business! You can charge customers for the service, or provide it for free and request donations.
Sell Candy
Another thing that's popular with most everyone is candy! There are fundraising companies that provide glossy color brochures complete with order forms for students to use. You can find gourmet chocolate, cheesecake, fudge, and more to sell for your fundraiser. Send students home with the brochures and direct them to sell to friends, family and neighbors. Or, sell something like gourmet lollipops directly to the students. In a large school, fifty cents here and there adds up to big profits.
By offering students something they'll like at a price they can afford, you're sure to make money!
Try Scented Candles
Scented candles are also popular fundraising items. Today's scented candles come in a wide variety of fragrances and colors. And because scented candles are fairly inexpensive, you're likely to get lots of sales for your school
Choose Cookbooks
Cookbooks are popular fundraising items as well. Since most everyone cooks, most everyone can use a great cookbook that benefits a great cause like your school. Try a specialty cookbook that features a particular type of cuisine, or have students and their parents contribute their favorite recipes.
When it comes to school fundraising ideas, you need to make sure that the students are on board. That's why soliciting ideas from them or letting them vote on different ideas is a good practice. By choosing school fundraising ideas that the students like, they're more likely to do the best job they can with the sales!
